VICTORIA Falls' Stanley and Livingstone Boutique Hotel has been officially re-launched following a refurbishment exercise at a cost of $4 million. The Minister of Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Prisca Mupfumira, presided over the event in the resort town on Thursday evening.

The facility is owned by Aujun Investments, formerly known as Abdulla Aujan & Brothers, a Saudi conglomerate with interests in manufacturing, distribution, real estate, hospitality, mining, and trading.

In her address Minister Mupfumira paid tribute to the Aujan family for their passion in investing in Zimbabwe and remaining focused for the benefit of both investor and the national economy.

She said that the investment in the hotel will have far-reaching positive impact that extends well beyond tourism into areas such as environment, employment and community development. Aujun Investments group chairman, Mr Abdulla Aujun, expressed confidence in the refurbishment project in increasing tourist traffic to Victoria Falls.

"This refurbished property is set to attract more of the niche market that is interested in high end products as the property meets global luxury standards. My family has a heart connection with Zimbabwe hence our maintaining presence in this country. We value the support rendered by the Government and we remain committed to bettering the lives of Zimbabwe through our business," he said.

The upgraded facility is the first luxury boutique hotel in the tourist town and emerges as an elegant hide-out for families and couples.
