Cabinet reshuffle wont get Zim out of the woods

Former deputy Justice minister Obert Gutu has dismissed recent speculation on President Robert Mugabe's planned cabinet reshuffle saying the move would not improve the country in any way.

Gutu who is also MDC-T Harare provincial chairperson said the entire Zanu PF party was no longer fit to govern the country.

"The solution is not to be found in the proposed cabinet reshuffle. The entire system is no longer fit for purpose. It is beyond redemption. It is completely unable to extricate the nation from the present hell hole," Gutu said.

"A peaceful, lawful and constitutional regime change that will ensure a systematic, holistic and structural overhaul of the entire State apparatus is the only solution. Anything short of this would be a monumental exercise in futility and grandiose self-delusion."

The country's economy has been on a downward spiral since last year's controversial July 31 Zanu PF election victory.

MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai is on record accusing Zanu PF had rigged the election that was fraught with a number of irregularities.

Botswana President Ian Khama also attracted the wrath of Zanu PF after calling for an audit of the polls suggesting that the process had been manipulated by the revolutionary party.
