It was a case of Christmas coming early for a Victoria Falls resident and 40-year-old Mr Simbarashe Shoko after he won a Mercedes Benz C Class at the Baker's Inn 2017 edition of the Buy and Win promotion provincial draw held in Hwange yesterday.

Mr Shoko, who was not present at the colourful ceremony as he was in the resort town, was over the moon when contacted for an interview.

"I am humbled and highly elated after winning such a magnificent car in this promotion. Never in my life did I imagine that my love for Baker's Inn bread would one day result in me winning a car. As a family we consume a loaf on a daily basis and I entered the promotion with a number of coupons but I was just praying to win something, I never dreamt of such a big prize. As I'm talking to you now, I am rolling all over the floor as I am overwhelmed by this blessing and I have just phoned my wife who is also in dreamland at the moment," said Mr Shoko.

In an interview on the sidelines of the draw, Baker's Inn sales and marketing executive Mr Caleb Musodza said his company took pride in rewarding their customers for their loyalty to their product.

"As Baker's Inn we are rewarding our customers throughout the country for their loyalty to our product. Our bread is the only one with national footprints all over the country hence we should give back to the communities that support us. We take leadership in the business and others follow as you witnessed with the family loaf first introduced into the market by Baker's Inn. We are rewarding both consumers and traders for their support," he said.

Besides the grand prize of the car, customers also walked away with prizes ranging from school fees vouchers, gas stoves, flat screen television sets, deep freezers and solar geysers.

Mr Berias Ruzongwa and Mr Jerry Mbewe both from Hwange walked away with school fees vouchers worth $120 each while Mr Carly Moyo from Zinwa Complex in Hwange and Ms Winnie Sibanda from Victoria Falls are now proud owners of a gas stove and cylinder each.

Mr Posani Nyoni (Victoria Falls) and Ms Dorcas Ndebele from Lupane both won 32 inch LED Sansui flat screen television sets.

Ms Priscilla Sibanda and Ms Fiona Gopo from Dete town walked away with Capri deep freezers.

Not to be outdone, the host town of Hwange had Mr Tedious Nyoni winning a solar geyser.
