Industry mulls forming unified body
Published: 24 May 2018
Zimbabwe's private sector is planning to set up a unified body to represent its interest, after the collapse of the Business Council of Zimbabwe (BCZ) due to internal bickering.

BCZ, which was made up of nine business umbrella organization - the Bankers Association of Zimbabwe, Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe, Commercial Farmers Union, Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries, Employers Confederation of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Commercial Farmers Union, Zimbabwe Council for Tourism, Zimbabwe Farmers Union, and the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce - folded up some time back due to lack of a common vision and conflict among members.

CZI president Sifelani Jabangwe said plans were at an advanced stage to form an apex body representing all sectors of the economy that would engage with government.
