Zanu-PF Second Secretary and Vice President, Kembo Mohadi has warned party candidates contemplating to cross the floor and join opposition parties after the 30 July harmonised elections that the party will not hesitate to recall them.

Mohadi said this while addressing party supporters at Dewure High School in Gutu, Masvingo Province.

"If there are candidates who think that after winning elections on a Zanu-PF ticket, they can just cross the floor, don't think we will sit back and do nothing. We will simply recall you and have by-elections in those constituencies," he warned.

The Vice President, who was in Gutu to officially launch the party's campaign, also urged all Zanu-PF members to desist from fighting the opposition.

He said even when provoked, they should maintain their calm as violence is not tolerated in the ruling party.

Mohadi said Zanu-PF is striving to ensure that the country's economy is revived.

He noted that since the new dispensation, a number of investors have committed themselves to do business with Zimbabwe.

"Remember our mantra is we are open for business. In the last five months, we have some commitments from several investors who are willing to come and do business with us," he said.

The Vice President assured people in Gutu who did not manage to secure good yields this agricultural season that the government will ensure that they are provided with food.

The assurances were in response to concerns raised by the party's provincial leadership that in some areas the crops were affected by low rainfall patterns.
