MDC MPs receive death threats on mobile phones

Published: 03 December 2018
Dozens of opposition legislation have received death threats and are scared stiff for their lives pushing for a government probe into the intimidation.

This week's threats came just after police forcibly removed some opposition MPs from Parliament.

Meanwhile, President Emmerson Mnangagwa challenged parliamentarians to be accountable to the people who elected them into office and help to push forward the country's vision.

Speaking during the ground-breaking ceremony for the new Parliament building in Mt Hampden, Harare, Mnangagwa also warned MPs against bunking parliamentary sessions as they had a critical role to play in the country's development.
