Meikles Mega Market wholesale and retail chain has opened its sixth branch as it expands its footprint across the country.

The sixth branch, in Gweru, was opened last week and is the second-largest in the group.

Meikles company secretary Thabani Mpofu said the branch had employed 29 out of 30 from the city to empower locals.

He said they are bringing this (Meikles) shop to the people of Gweru, so it only makes sense to employ people from here also so that the city fully enjoys the benefits.

This is the second-largest branch of Meikles Mega Market and it is the largest branch outside Harare.
