Potraz challenges the developed world

The Postal and Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) has challenged the developed world to assist developing countries to meet the universal health coverage targets by 2030.

Universal health coverage is about ensuring that people have access to the health care they need without suffering financial hardships. It also helps drive better health and development outcomes as affordable health care is the foundation for individuals to lead productive and fulfilling lives and for countries to have strong economies.

In recent years, the universal health coverage movement has gained global momentum, with the World Health Assembly and the United Nations General Assembly calling on countries to urgently and significantly scale up efforts to accelerate the transition towards universal access to affordable and quality healthcare services.

Potraz director general Gift Machengete said while the universal health coverage calls for an inclusive society where no one is left behind, events in the world are proving to be contrary.
