VACANCY - Occupational Health Office at RioZim

RioZIm Limited is a company Incorporated in Zimbabwe with mining and related operations in several parts of Zimbabwe. It is listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange. The company seeks to recruit an Occupational Health Officer to be based at Empress Nickel Refinery in Kadoma. The successful applicant will report to Health Safety and Environment Manager and will among other duties be responsible for teh following.

- Plan, organise and carry out periodical medical surveillance as per requirement by Law.
- Measure industrial hygiene factors such as noise, ventilation, heat and lighting to enforce hygiene Laws and Standards.
- Conduct or facilitate first aid training.
- Carry out investigations on occupational health and injury on duty cases and compile reports with recommendations.
- Carry out work place inspections i.e. kitchens and ablution facilities to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
- Plan, organise and carry out workplace HIV/Aids awarness programmes.
- Attend and treat all emergency health cases and refer complicated cases to hospital.
- Interpret laboratory results and doctors prescriptions and implement the required recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience.
- Diploma in General Nursing
- SHATCO 1 and 2 OSHEMAC 1 and 2
- Ambulance Technician Certificate
- At least 2 years post qualification experience
- Minig or Manufacturing background is an added advantage
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 9001 Management Systems.
