ZSE in fifth consecutive gain

The equities market today recorded a fifth consecutive gain as the Industrials Index gained 0.52 points to 171.40 attributable to positive performances in selected heavyweights.

Heavyweights Innscor, Delta and Econet recorded gains.

Conglomerate Innscor added 0.50c to 63c while its associate Colcom closed as the top riser on the day, gaining 1c or 4.76 percent to 22c.

Delta and Econet also advanced, gaining 0.45 percent and 0.82 percent each to 112c and 61.5c, respectively. DZLH was the other counter to trade in the green adding 0.50c to 8c.

Three counters traded in the red today.

Old Mutual closed amongst the three counters to trade on the downside, dropping 3c to 250c. Meanwhile, SeedCo eased 2c to 78c.

Heavyweight retailer OK Zimbabwe closed unchanged at 20c.

Bankers CBZ closed sellers only at 15c ahead of their AGM tomorrow at 3pm Gold producer Falgold also traded in the red.

This led the Minings Index to ease 0.24 to 29.64 as Falgold dropped 0.30c to 3c. Nickel miner Bindura remained stable at 1.35c.

There was a significant drop in the daily market turnover to $621 886 on a volume of 9.250 million shares against yesterday’s $937 097 on a volume of 11.47 million shares.
