Energy and Power Development Minister Dzikamai Mavhaire has dissolved 8 boards of energy State enterprises, saying he was not happy with their work.

The boards' terms expired on December 31, 2013 and the minister felt they had to be reconstituted.

Addressing a media conference in Harare yesterday, Mavhaire said it had become necessary to inject new blood into the 8 boards that fall under his jurisdiction.

The boards are: the Zimbabwe Power Company chaired by Victor Gapare, Power Tel (Francis Chirumuuta), Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission Distribution Company (Steven Hazangwi), Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Canada Malunga), the Rural Electrification Agency (John Mberi), Zesa Enterprises (Engineer Andrew Nyambayo), National Oil Infrastructure Company (Chriswell Gombera) and Petrotrade (Kenias Mafukidze).
