Zimbabwe's business environment remains difficult despite an improvement in confidence and optimism, results from the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) Business Confidence Index show.

CZI president Sifelani Jabangwe said while general sentiment had improved following the assumption of power by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in November last year, the country's Situation Diffusion Index, which speaks to the present situation, has remained negative for both the full year and last quarter of 2017.

Jabangwa pointed out that this was the first positive BCI the survey had ever recorded since its inception in 2014.
