The MDC-T has secured legal protection of its name and symbol as the ugly fallout with the rival faction led by sacked former vice-president Thokozani Khupe continues to play out in the public.
MDC-T's decision to patent its name and symbol comes as the High Court is yet to hear a case in which its president Nelson Chamisa wants Khupe stopped from using the opposition movement's and claiming its leadership.
Former Mt Pleasant MP Jameson Timba, who is a member of the MDC-T national executive council, did not deny nor confirm that he was dealing with the case of protecting the party's name and symbols.
