THE time for sloganeering is over and the revolutionary party, Zanu-PF is reverting back to its founding principles dating back to the liberation struggle, says Politburo member, Perrance Shiri.

Addressing party supporters at a rally in Chipadze Township last weekend, Shiri said the G40 cabal led by former First Lady Grace Mugabe and her lieutenants, Saviour Kasukuwere and Jonathan Moyo was out to reverse the gains of the liberation struggle by concentrating on humiliating party officials and war veterans at rallies.

He said the cabal was not bothered with economic issues, but wanted to usurp the former President's powers. He said it was for that reason that the people of Zimbabwe together with the military resorted to Operation Restore Legacy in November last year, to bring back the Zanu-PF train back on its course and enable it to fulfil people's wishes.

"The G40 cabal led by Grace Mugabe and her lieutenants, Jonathan Moyo and Saviour Kasukuwere was derailing the aims of the liberation struggle by humiliating senior party officials as well as war veterans at rallies instead of concentrating on economic issues that are affecting our people. They were obsessed with grabbing power from the former President," he said.

"This is the reason why the people of Zimbabwe together with the military staged Operation Restore Legacy to bring back the Zanu-PF train back on its track. We want political and economic independence for our people.

"So the time for sloganeering is over and the party is reverting back to its founding principles which date back to the liberation struggle. We want to bring political and economic independence to the people," said Shiri.

He said the party had lined up a number of economic programmes starting with the eradication of corruption, internal investments as well as international engagements which have seen President Mnangagwa travelling around the globe preaching the "Zimbabwe is open for business" mantra.
