Mthwakazi petition Pick n Pay HQ in South Africa

A delegation of Mthwakazi Republic Party, led by President Mqondisi Moyo handed over a petition to the management of Pick n Pay in Johannesburg.

The delegation included, the national spokesperson Mbonisi Gumbo, national chairperson Mqondisi Ndebele, national organiser Malwande Nyathi, Foreign Affairs Secretary Njabulo Ngwenya and some S.A. executive members.

The Pick n Pay management has officially acknowledged receipt of the petition.

The petition reads as follows:

REF: PETITION TO ATTEND TO TRIBAL ISSUES AT Pick n Pay IN MATABELELAND:
Mthwakazi Republic Party appreciates the investments by Pick n Pay group in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. This largest and consistently successful retail has, however became a liability to the people of Bulawayo and Matabeleland in general, through meddling in tribal politics of the current regime.
It is this unfortunate environment that compels us to petition your company to commit to the following:

- Reinstatement of all affected employees that have been dismissed on tribal grounds.

- Immediate dismissal of your tribal manager, Mr. Livingston Ntini who claims to be an untouchable Zanu PF MP, his supervisors Patel Matoyi, Chiedza Lorraine Mukwize, Reason Mhofu and branch manager Munyazadzi Mudhoni.

- Carry out an investigation into the allegations of institutional tribalism in your Bulawayo and Matabeleland branches.

- Commit to an open employment policy that gives priority to the residents of your territories of operation.

- Reinstate Ndebele managers who were sacked clandestinely, who include Jeremiah Mabhena, Sherpard Msipha and Nhlanhla Mpofu.

Currently, ﬁve Bulawayo residents and two former Pick n Pay employees have been arrested and released on bail for demanding justice and good corporate governance from your company.

We will unfortunately come to a point of identifying Pick n Pay as a part of the institutionalized hegemonic and tribal system exercised on the people of Matabeleland. The victimization of our people through your company will force MRP to mobilize for political solutions to this predicament.

We plead with Pick n Pay to commit to the above demands by the 14th of July 2018.
