Chamisa addresses rallies in Chipinge

MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa held rallies in Chipinge and Chimanimani, threatening to call off the 30 July harmonised elections if their demands on the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) are not met.

However, contrary to the utterances, Chamisa informed his supporters that he will win the country's next polls come July 30.

The MDC Alliance rally that was scheduled to start Thursday morning at Gaza Stadium in Chipinge started in the afternoon while the rally in Chimanimani started towards evening due to the late arrival of Chamisa, who claimed that he was to attend to an urgent meeting on demands to ZEC.

The MDC Alliance leader was however quick to say he will win the country's polls this month, stating that he will re-introduce the Zimbabwean dollar that will be stronger than the US dollar and the British pound, among other promises to the electorate.

"We will remain resolute on our positions on the demands. When we win the elections, we will re-introduce the Zimbabwean dollar that will be stronger that the US dollar and the British pound as well as making sure that primary education will be free for all," he said.

He added that if the people of Chipinge vote for him, Chipinge will be transformed into a town like Mutare.

He said Zanu PF fielded a good candidate in Chipinge Central in the name of Raymore Machingura but the people should vote for MDC Alliance.

"Machingura is a good man, he is a good leader who should be led by the MDC Alliance and not Zanu PF. Now that he is not part of MDC Alliance, you should not vote for him," said Chamisa.

At the Gaza Stadium rally, Chamisa attacked the police for allegedly abusing the people but at the Nedziwa rally, he said that all police officers are now his supporters.

Chamisa said he will revive the industry, attract foreign direct investment and promote infrastructure development and implement devolution of power, positions that President Emmerson Mnangwagwa says he has started working on.
