Econet Wireless Zimbabwe and Liquid Telecoms scooped one prestigious award each yesterday during the 2014 AfricaCom awards ceremony that was held in Cape Town.

Liquid walked away with the Best Cost Efficiency Solution for Africa award for having the longest fibre links in Africa Connecting the continent and ensuring that millions of people now have access to communication that is also affordable as Liquid Telecom have also worked hard to keep costs down.

Econet's ecocash was adjudged the Best Mobile Money Service award winner.

It was noted that since the launch of this product with various Telecom Operators in sub-Saharan African, the subscriber base using this service has grown exponentially and today there are more than 3 million active users AfricaCom is Africa's largest communications conference and exhibition.

Now in its 16th year, the conference features 300+ exhibitors and an astounding 8,000 senior decision-makers representing the entire communications ecosystem across Africa and beyond.
