The Insurance Council of Zimbabwe (ICZ) will conduct awareness campaigns on how the insurance industry works as well as review the Insurance and Pension Commission Act to address some of the challenges the industry is facing.

The council also promised to address the complaints and some of the challenges the public is facing.
Among some of the challenges include areas where people cry foul over the non payments of their contributions during retirement and those that fail to get assistance after an accident.

"We will conduct awareness campaigns on how the insurance industry operates and review the Insurance and Pension Commission Act to address the shortcomings," ICZ Chairman, Musa Bako said.

ICZ member of the Public Relations Committee, Panganai Sanangurai said his organisation has also stretched a helping hand to those who are involved in accidents.

ICZ is the representative body of the short-term insurance industry.

It represents the industry to all relevant stakeholders to ensure a sustainable industry. Currently, ICZ has 31 members, seven of which are short-term reinsurance companies and 24 of which are short-term insurance companies.
