Mashonaland Tobacco Company is targeting a 10 million kilogramme haul of tobacco during the current marketing season at it has recorded a 50 percent increase of growers from the 2016-2017 season.

The company said some tobacco farmers contracted to grow the cash crop even invested additional resources to increase their hectarage.

MTC provincial coordinator and agronomist Mr Milonde Milonde said it recently increased the number of contract farmers.
