Govt in bid to save industry
Published: 07 October 2013
Industry and Commerce Minister Mike Bimha says Government is working to save companies from collapse after seeing industry capacity utilisation plummet to 39.6% in 2013 from 44% a year ago.

Bimha spoke during the launch of the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries Manufacturing Sector Survey 2013 report in Harare on Wednesday, as disappointed industry captains used every available term from Armageddon, intensive care, to comatose in describing the current state of the country's ailing manufacturing sector.

Government, according to Bimha, will avail support for the manufacturing industry through formulation of policies that will help increase production to optimum levels.

He said plans were already under way for the establishment of an economic blueprint to immediately address industry through financial and tariff support.
