At least 1 442 exhibitors will showcase their products at the annual Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel and Tourism Africa Fair, up from 1 200 last year.

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority public relations manager Mr Sugar Chagonda told New Ziana that the premier tourism showcase would be held at the Harare International Conference Centre from October 10 to 12 this year.

"Sanganai has grown as a tourism brand over the past six years hence that is why even the number of exhibitors escalates with each exhibition," he said.

Mr Chagonda said the exhibitors were from South Africa, Namibia and Botswana while other countries were represented by their embassies.

The Sanganai/Hlanganani expo is aimed at showcasing a variety of Africa's best tourism products. This year's edition will see the hosting of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) Business Forum on October 10.

Hosting of this years' edition of the premier tourism event cost a total of $750 000 which Chagonda said was secured from the Ministry of Finance.

The expo showcases the widest variety of Africa's best tourism products and attracts international visitors and media from across the world.

It targets national tourism boards, embassies, airlines, tourism destinations, tour operators, suppliers of goods and services, investors and hoteliers.
