Moonlight Funeral Assurance group chief executive Mr Chomi Makina has been re-elected president of the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe.

Mr Makina's re-election was confirmed during the just ended IIZ annual conference that was held in Victoria Falls.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Makina said his focus during his second and final tenure was to ensure that the IIZ introduces the fellowship programme and set up a computerised library.

"I want to ensure that the fellowship programme does not remain a just a mere dream but becomes a reality.

"My vision is also to ensure that the institute established a computerise library in keeping with developments on the technology front," he said.

Mr Makina, who is also the president of the Zimbabwe Association of Funeral Assurers, was elected president in November last year at the institute's annual conference in Bulawayo.

He took over the reins from Fidelity Life group chief executive Mr Simon Chapereka who had served his two terms.

Mr Makina will be deputised by THI Insurance managing director Mr Hamish MacLean.
