A LEADING luxury passenger transport service company, Intercape has re-introduced the Harare-Cape Town service due to public demand as well as the need to give quality service to customers.

Speaking during the launch of the new i6 plus fleet on Thursday evening at their Bulawayo offices, Intercape sales and marketing representative Mr Khomotso Rapetswa said:

"We started it and we had to stop and we re-introduced it by popular demand from our customers. Our first coach left Harare on the 3rd of August," he said.

Mr Rapetswa said if there is demand in Bulawayo they would consider introducing a Bulawayo-Cape Town service also.

He said new i6 plus fleet has state-of-the-art facilities that gives their customers safety.

"The fleet we added are called Irizar i6 plus and a 60-seater. The fleet has got the latest specifications like improved toilets facilities, new interior changes, USB charging points, laptops charging points, satellite tracking, drive camera, memory form seats and seat belts.

"We are waiting for more (buses) to come in order for us to give our customers quality service they deserve," said Mr Rapetswa.

He said Intercape recently introduced a mobile application that has managed to change the way they do business as their customers were now able to enquire about company's services without coming to their offices.

He said the coming of the new fleet would not affect their fares as they would remain unchanged.

Mr Rapetswa highlighted that the breathalyser checks were for drivers as his organisation wants to ensure safety for their customers.

"The breathalyser works for drivers and what happens is that before duty you need to breathalyse to check if you are not under the influence of alcohol.

"Remember at the end of the day we are not just transporting people but we are transporting family members, breadwinners, parents and grandparents.

"We are moving human life which is very important," he said.
