Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) deputy president, Mr Davison Norupiri has hailed the cordial business relations that exist between Mauritius and Zimbabwe and urged the local business community to learn from Mauritius’ experiences so that they can be able to attract much needed fresh capital into the economy.

In an interview on the first day of a two-day Mauritius-Zimbabwe Buyers Sellers Expo in Harare yesterday, Mr Norupiri said Mauritians are aggressive when it comes to marketing their products and services beyond their borders which places them in a good position in relation to their export earnings.

Exhibitors at the expo are Mauritian based companies from different sectors that include the clothing industry, advertising, motor industry and printing.

"Such an expo is good for us as we get to benefit from sharing of business ideas while the environment is also conducive for creating partnerships or synergies that are mutually beneficial.

"We also get the opportunity to lure potential investors who can actually inject fresh capital that we so much need in industry for full capacity utilisation," he said.

Mr Norupiri added that as this expo is on-going, there are about five Mauritian delegations of the same nature in other countries showcasing their products and services, a sign of how serious they are in promoting their country and products beyond their borders.
